I'm back to the blogging world...for tonight :)

Wow, time sure has gone by fast lately. We have been enjoying our summer, it's been really really hot, but we're still having fun. We are currently in the process of painting our house and yikes, it's a lot of work! We've only partially painted the bathroom and it has taken a while to do. The only time I can really do it is when the kids are sleeping which isn't a lot of time to get something like painting done. Slowly but surely our house will get painted. Other then painting our house, not much has been going on. I just have been loving my two kids!

Aren't these two the cutest?! I think they look a lot of alike but some people don't. What do you think?
I seriously love this girl so much! She is so much fun and so funny! Bailee has been loving Austin! She likes to take his arms and move them up and down because it makes him smile and laugh. She loves to get a reaction out of him. Bailee, of course, is loving princess's right now. Anytime we go to the store she always wants to go to the toy section and look at the princesses. Then, when I tell her it's time to leave the toys, she says, "Wait just a second" or "come here and let's play together." She has finally started getting out of her bed in the mornings and comes and wakes us up. She would always wait for us to come get her out of bed (yes, she is the most awesome kid ever!) but I guess she was done waiting for us to wake up and get her out of bed. I'm just glad that she did that for as long as she did! She has started to whine...a lot, so if any of you have any words of advice, feel free to share them with me because it really drives me crazy!
Austin being as cute as ever. He likes to hold his hands like this a lot. I think it's pretty cute. He is almost done with wearing a cast, yay! He has had six casts on and right before they put on this last cast, they did a minor surgery on his heel cord. He will get this last cast taken off in a week and a half and then he goes into a brace. I'm so happy that we are almost done with the casting period. He has done really well with the cast. Every time he gets a new cast put on, he's fussy for the first couple days but then he's great. I hope that when he gets his brace that he won't be too fussy because we are going to be travelling back up to Idaho that same week and I don't want a crying baby on the plane! He really is a sweetheart though. He just LOVES to be talked to and given attention. He smiles and laughs like crazy when he's talked to and I love it :)
Father and son. They are pretty cute huh :) You can really notice Austin's mohawk in this picture. He was born with a mohawk but the hair was really long and just laid to the side. I finally decided to buzz it a little shorter and spike it a little. A lot of people say, "Did you give him a mohawk?" and I say, "No, he was just born cool." Lol. No I don't always say that but sometimes :)

Adjusting to two

Well life is starting to get a little more back to normal. I am adjusting to having another kid and I think Bailee is getting used to a brother and having to share my attention. Bailee really is sweet with Austin and I love watching her with him. When he starts crying she immediately says, "Mom, Austin needs his binkie." She is such a huge help to me! She really is my sweetie and a great big sister :)
Eric brought home a t-ball set and this is the first time Bailee played with it. She liked hitting the ball with the bat but I think she likes just doing whatever she wants with it rather than how it is supposed to be played with. :)

Newest picture of Austin. I realized that I didn't post his newborn stats on my last post so here they are...7 lbs 7 oz. and 19 in. long. He also had his 1 month check up yesterday and those stats are: 8 lbs 11 oz. and 21 1/2 in. long. He sure is growing but that doesn't surprise me with how much he eats!

And here is Austin's club foot. I'll have to take a closer picture of his toes sometime because they are freakishly long! Eric has extremely long toes so he gets it from him but every time I look at his toes, I think "wow thoses are really long toes!" Anyway, back on the subject, he gets his first cast put on Monday so this is just going to be a before picture for when all of the casting is done. After he gets his cast put on I'll put up a picture of that. Oh...after looking at this picture for a minute, I realized that his left leg looks way shorter then his right but it's not, he's just bending his left leg...just in case you guys were wondering. Haha :)

I also have to say that Eric is a great husband and Dad! He loves playing and spending time with Bailee. She has so much fun with him, they are constantly screaming and laughing when they play together! He is so good with Austin. On the weekends when he doesn't have to work he will take Austin in the morning if I didn't get much sleep and he will let me get some much needed sleep. He also makes sure that I get some one on one time with Bailee...he watches Austin so Bailee and I can go do something together and have fun. I am so grateful to Eric for the things that he does. Just had to brag a little about my hubbby :)

P.S. sorry if some parts of this post didn't make sense, I am really tired and am not going to proof read...I'm just happy that I got a post up :)

I know I'm late...but Austin is here!

I know that I am really late with this post but he is here!!! Austin Taylor Goldthorpe arrived on April 15. He is such a sweet baby and we love him sooo much already!

This picture makes me smile with his fist on his chin. He looks like the thinking man :) I was getting sewn up from the c-section and Eric was able to go with Austin while they gave him a bath and get him all nice and clean before I saw him :)

Me meeting Austin for the first time :) During the c-section I started to feel sick so I was trying really hard not to throw up. A girl had had a c-section right before me and had thrown up and I really didn't want to do that so I was trying really hard to breath and focus on anything but being sick. When I finally saw Austin, I was so happy, but I wasn't able to touch him or anything because they had my arms strapped down. When I had Bailee I was knocked out for the c-section and didn't get to even see her until she was a couple of hours old. I honestly don't hardly remember anything from the first day because of the anasthesia, so I feel like I missed out on some stuff with Bailee's birth. With Austin's c-section, it was weird not being able to hold him or see him for very long before they took him to get cleaned up but I am so grateful that I was awake during this c-section and was able to excperience more with this birth :)

My beautiful family! Love Bailee's face in this pic. Bailee has never really been into babies so at first she kind of just ignored him but she has become a lot better :) Now she will give him kisses, talk to him and give him some of her toys. She even volunteers to take his dirty diapers to the trash for me :) It's really fun to watch her with him...she is a great big sister!

Advice anyone??

Since we are a month away from having our baby boy come into this world, I thought I would seek advice from all of you fellow bloggers. I need advice on how to make the transition to having a new baby in the house easier on Bailee. I don't want her to feel jealous or neglected when we bring the new baby home, so what are some things that you did to help your little ones? I know there is an adjustment period for every kid when a new baby is brought home, I just want to make the adjustment as easy as possible. So any suggestions or advice are more than welcome.

Also just wanted to add that I am so excited to almost have our baby boy here! This pregnancy has gone by pretty fast and I only hope this last month doesn't drag on. I am, of course, uncomfortable and have some major heartburn but other then that, this pregnancy has been great.

Another bit of news, we put an offer in on a house and it was accepted! We are so excited and hopefully everything works out. The closing date on the house is April 2, so we would like to move in before the baby is born. It will be a busy, stressful time, but I would much rather move before the baby is born instead of after. The next couple of months are definitely going to be busy but exciting!

Almost there!

Life has been going well since the move. We're pretty much just getting ready for baby boy to come. We went to the dr. a couple of weeks ago and found out that we will have have the baby via c-section because they don't allow vbacs (vaginal birth after c-section) So we have scheduled the c-section for April 15! The original due date was April 20, it will be nice to have the baby five days early instead of 5 days late, like with Bailee :) I have to admit that I am pretty nervous about the c-section. Bailee was an emergency c-section, so I was put under, but this one I'll be awake and that kinda freaks me out! I know, I'm a baby. As far as what we'll name the baby....we still don't know :) Eric really really wants the name Dallas but I'm still not sure about it. We really haven't talked about names a lot lately so we probably won't have a name picked out till he is born. No big deal since we didn't name Bailee until she was a couple days old :)
This picture was taken at 32 weeks. I'm now 34 weeks and I feel like my stomach has already doubled in size! It's crazy to think that there is only about a month and a half left, which will be here before I know it, but it still feels so far away. I just have to keep telling myself, "Almost there!"

When we found out that our baby was going to be a boy we also found out that he was going to be born with a club foot, which is totally fixable. I did a lot of research online and figured out that I would like to have his fixed without using surgery. From my research, alot of people who have their club foot fixed with surgery have a lot of pain in their foot later in life. So, I wanted a method called the Ponsetti Method which uses casting and bracing to fix the foot. You have to have the foot cast when the baby is about 3 weeks old and then recasted every week and a half to two weeks. After about 3-4 months they are put into braces. There is a Shriners hospital about 5 hours away that uses the Ponsetti Method and the Dr. there was the understudy of the guy who invented the method. So, I'm not too thrilled about all of the travelling we'll have to do, but I"m happy that I found this Dr. and the Shriners hospital. Yay!

This is kind of a longer post but I really needed to get caught up a little bit. I'm going to really try to start blogging more so that I don't have to have these long posts every month or two to stay caught up.

Quite a morning

Yesterday Bailee and I painted our toenails and I foolishly left the fingernail polish out overnight. Well today, I'm getting ready in the bathroom when I hear Bailee say,

"Sticky hands" I think in my head, "that's weird since she is just playing in her room where there isn't anything sticky...hmmm"

I then go into her room where I see that she was putting fingernail polish on her fingers. I then see that she had spilled some fingernail polish on the carpet! I was pretty upset since we just barely moved into a new apartment. As I'm sitting there trying to figure out how to get the polish out of the carpet I tell Bailee to go color and that there was some paper on the kitchen counter.

A minute later I hear a crash....I go running into the kitchen to find that a mug had broken on the floor. I was mostly worried about Bailee stepping on glass, so luckily I stayed pretty calm but I was starting to get a little overwhelmed with the messes that my two year old stinker had made.

To be fair to Bailee, I place a some blame on myself since I left the nailpolish out for her to get into and also that I had a mug on the counter right by her paper. I was seriously asking for these accidents :)

Anyway, the messes were cleaned up (if you or one of your kids spills nailpolish on carpet use hairspray and a wet cloth and it comes out, yay) and we survived the morning :)

Found some pics

Earlier today Bailee got a paper cut on the skin between her thumb and forefinger and made quite the fuss about it. It was probably sore, all day she would start saying "ow" and start crying. Since we just moved and I didn't know where our band-aids were, I wrapped her hand, and it solved the problem.

Bailee got really bored and antsy while we were unpacking our things so we made her a house made out of boxes. It's a ghetto house, but she loves it.

So, a post ago I said that I didn't have any pics from Christmas. Well I started looking at pics on my camera and there were a few pics that I had taken at Christmas but forgot about. The above picture is of all the grandkids on my parents side at Christmas. It was tough getting a good picture of everyone!

It's been awhile

Holy cow, the past month has just flown by!!! December was a very busy month for us, Eric graduated, Christmas and we moved. Eric's graduation was great, he is soooo excited to be done with school (he wasn't a big fan.) A day after Eric's graduation we left for a week to spend Christmas at my parents house. We had a lot of fun, especially when the rest of the family was able to come down. I wish that I would have gotten some pictures but I swear I am the worst picture taker ever! I am going to have to ask my family to send me some of their pictures because I'm sure they got some great shots :)

After Christmas we took Bailee up to Boise so Eric's family could watch her while Eric and I went back to Rexburg to move our stuff. We were gone from Bailee for 3 days which was so hard for me. It may not seem like a long time, but I haven't been away from Bailee for longer then 9 hours since she was born. According to Eric's family, Bailee was great but was definately missing us by the last day :) I loved getting her big hugs when I saw her again! The move went great, it was especially nice because we had movers PACK all of our stuff and then MOVE all our stuff! On top of that, they took our car so Eric didn't have to drive all the way to Arkansas. It was wonderful and stress free...for the most part :) We were there just to supervise and watch them, I really didn't need to go but I had a dr's appointment where they check for diabetes, so I kinda needed to go back to Rexburg for that appointment since my next one won't be until Feb. some time.

We are still unpacking all of our stuff and trying to organize which can be a stressful but hopefully we'll be done soon. That's what's been going on with us for the last month, I saw that I hadn't blogged in a month so I needed to update :) I will try to get some pictures soon to show all the crazy fun we had ;)

p.s. Eric and I finally got cell phones!!! We've never had them because we never really needed them. They are so nice and convenient to have but it is still weird that I can call people and get calls wherever I go now :)
